Insurance Business Analyst

Job Overview

The role is a Business Analyst role into the Data & Analytics domain and requires in-depth understanding of the insurance domain (Life/General Insurance) and the associated systems, reporting methodologies and digital transformations.

This Role Will Have The Following Roles And Responsibilities

• Strong insurance domain knowledge in order to understand insurance lingos and terminologies.
• Knowledge in Data Concepts such as Online Data Transactions, Operational Data Store, Data Lakes, Analytics Data Warehouse, Data Marts (desirable)
• Good Understanding of data modelling in Insurance (both logical and conceptual)
• Creating or maintain Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and Data Mapping Document
• Should be innovative and be able to think out of the box and look at business impact and benefit.
• Effectively elicits, analyzes, verifies, and communicates requirements including business, functional, and non-functional requirements, aligning to the scope & objective of the project.
• Ability to analyze the business requirements and map it to the IT insurance systems and databases maintained by organization.
• Acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, data enablement and technical teams to translate business needs into technical data attributes.
• Ensure written requirements are clear, understandable, appropriate, and accurately capture key information required for a quality solution that meets the objective of the project and is line with the compliance requirement.
• Able to communicate effectively and contribute to proposal writing and support Business Development activities.
• Should have good exposure on stakeholder management and customer communication.
• Hands on working experience on Life & General Insurance systems.
• Support of business applications by problem analysis, resolution, reporting and escalation
• Work closely with Business Users, Development, QA, and Project Managers.
• Create KPIs and insights to measure and improve systems performance.
• Share Functional knowledge with the rest of the team.
• Create necessary documentation for the data mart which will include BRD, TSD, STM documents.
• Basic understanding of the BI tools like PowerBI, Quicksight (AWS native) etc.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications required for this role includes:

• Education level – B.Tech/ B.Tech + MBA
• Experience – 3 to 8 years
• Specific skills – Knowledge of insurance business, Good written and verbal communication skills, Data Modelling concepts, ETL tools, Understanding clients’ requirements effectively
• Expectations – This is a Techno – functional role and the person is expected to perform the technical as well as functional tasks on the project
