Overview
End to End Solution Design
Defining the detailed end to end solution design for products and features in a way that supports the execution of the impacted GB/GF technology strategies and roadmaps, articulating and addressing associated architectural risks, issues and technical debt
Translating the requirements created by business analysts into the architecture for that solution, ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected Business Outcomes
Engage with relevant Stakeholders, Platform and Enterprise Architects who inform solution design
Ensuring the design of the solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities
Ensuring the NFRs are consistently defined and architected into the design
Risk Management
Effectively manage & escalate risks/issues, to ensure there are no surprises for the PM &/or stakeholder where appropriate
Ensuring the architecture undergoes appropriate level of assessment at the right stage throughout the agile process in line with the appropriate GB/GF Governance processes (as applicable) ensuring adherence to Decision Driven Design and the Solution Architecture FIM
Production of relevant risk based architecture deliverables are completed in accordance with relevant Architecture governance process and quality standards
Appropriate level of governance for any decisions when deviating from Reference Architectures, Strategies, Patterns or Policies
Peer review and solutions design decision making verification and traceability
Architecture Mind Set
Escalating to Enterprise, Platform and Value Stream architects to evolve the architectural strategy and roadmap where gaps become evident; looking for opportunities to improve the current landscape/enterprise
Identify dependencies across multiple GB/GFs and Platforms
Developing and growing a skillset to design for cloud and for resilient, robust, secure, adaptable and flexible solution
Providing leadership with individual PODs or working with a number of PODs to ensure consistency of direction
Role Requirements
Budget control: This role will have no budget responsibility.
Line management: This job will not have line management responsibility.
Functional management: This job will not have functional management responsibility.
Relationships: Product Owners/Business, Technical Leads, Platform and Solution architects cross LoB, and PODs.
Strategic importance Low/Medium: Part of a team helping to drive and shape a multi-year multi-million dollar programme
Regulatory & risk Identifies risks against defined architecture standards, drives implementation in architecture design & promotes best practice
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge or demonstrable experience of the following:
Experience in delivering solutions over a number of years, either as a solutions architect or as a developer/analyst able to demonstrate architectural thinking.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to interact within the business as well as Technology
Ability to quickly consider and create solutions to immediate challenges as well as produce longer term strategic views and artefacts.
