Java Full Stack Developer - Associate - Software Engineering

Overview

We’re seeking someone to join our Capital group at Morgan Stanley, this team is responsible for building and optimizing systems that calculate Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) for credit risk, helping the business to evaluate exposures and regulatory requirements. We are seeking a motivated Java Full Stack Developer to contribute to mission-critical applications that shape the backbone of our risk assessment platform.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Java Full Stack position at Associate level, which is part of the Software Engineering job family that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What You’ll Do In The Role

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack Java applications using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement robust processes for Credit Risk RWA computation.
• Work with relational databases, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership for deliverables—from requirements gathering to production rollout and ongoing support.
• Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver solutions.
  
  

• Required Skills
• At least 4 years of relevant experience as a Java Full Stack Developer.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
• Experience in building web applications and RESTful services.
• Solid understanding of database concepts, including SQL and data modeling.
• Familiarity with Scala Angular , frontend frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps, Agile process will be added advantage
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability in end-to-end software delivery.
  
  

• Prior experience in financial services or risk management applications.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of credit risk and risk weighted assets frameworks.
