About the role

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, as well as familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD practices, and secure coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and scalable backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a distributed service ecosystem
• Follow best practices in coding, documentation, security, and testing
• Ensure code quality through peer reviews and maintain compliance with architecture and security standards
• Guide and mentor junior developers as required
• Participate in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning and stand-ups
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Technical skills

Core skills:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Node.js and JavaScript
• At least 1 year of experience in TypeScript
• Proficient in RESTful API development; working knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
• Solid database management and performance tuning experience
• Familiarity with task/message queues like Kafka, AWS SQS, or Azure

DevOps & Cloud:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with API gateways (e.g., 3scale)

Security:

• Understanding of authentication methods including OAuth, JWT, and SSO
• Experience in implementing secure coding practices and standards

Preferred experience

• Experience working in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) domain
• Exposure to production-level debugging, performance monitoring, and optimization
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Postgraduate degree is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in distributed teams
• Comfortable communicating technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
