Junior SQL Database Engineer

Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹55,000 per month

• B.Tech in Computer Science, or
• Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior SQL Database Engineer to join our backend engineering and infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with data structures, understands how databases power backend systems, and wants to contribute to production-grade systems used by real-world applications.

You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining relational databases, writing efficient SQL scripts, and supporting our engineering teams with reliable, optimized data operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize MySQL databases
• Create and maintain Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams
• Write and manage SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers
• Design indexes for performance and scalability
• Use tools like phpMyAdmin for managing databases
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate database logic with APIs
• Support infrastructure tasks involving databases on AWS RDS or EC2
• Monitor, debug, and optimize SQL queries and data flows

Required Skills

• Good understanding of MySQL and relational database concepts
• Ability to write clean and optimized SQL queries and scripts
• Experience or familiarity with ER diagrams and data modeling
• Understanding of indexes, joins, and query optimization
• Experience using phpMyAdmin or similar DB management tools
• Basic knowledge of deploying and managing databases on AWS
• Understanding of data security and access control best practices

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of AWS RDS, EC2, or other cloud-hosted database services
• Exposure to backup/restore strategies and database replication
• Understanding of integrating SQL databases with backend applications
• Familiarity with basic DevOps practices involving databases

Interview Process

• Technical Round – Practical questions on SQL, MySQL, and database design
• Final Round – Interview with our Principal Engineer and HR Manager
