About the position


Are you looking to help support the global energy transition whilst leveraging your data story-telling and dashboarding skills? As an early member of the geographically dispersed Data Team within the Software Solutions team at Aurora, you will do exactly that by executing on the data dashboard strategy. You will work closely with other teams at Aurora to scope requirements, plan development effort, QA and launch dashboards across all Aurora markets. These dashboards complement our Subscription services and Software products used by the movers, shakers and policy makers in the industry. It is an exciting opportunity to work on several aspects of the data lifecycle while supporting the larger global energy transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of Aurora power market dashboards from development through launch and maintenance. This includes managing the roadmap, holding team members accountable, handling stakeholder communications and liaising with users to gather feedback.


• Build and lead a team of data analysts to develop and deliver dashboards for internal teams as well as Aurora's global clientele.


• Liaise with Product Manager to prioritise and deliver on the data roadmap.


• Support Aurora teams with data analysis and storytelling using dashboards.


• Spend approximately 40% of your time immersed in hands-on data analysis and manipulation, extracting valuable insights to drive strategic decisions. You will also play a pivotal role in managing projects and coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and project delivery (30%). Additionally, you will be responsible for building, managing, and growing the data team as a people manager, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization (30%).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 5+ years of experience conceptualising, designing and building dashboards, of which at least 1 year was as a team lead or manager.


• 2+ years of experience with project management


• 3+ years of experience with relational and/or columnar databases and SQL.


• 3+ years of experience coding with Python​ and working with YAML & JSON.


• 2+ years of hands-on experience with data analytics and visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel​.


• Experience in energy industry or working with energy data.

Desirable attributes:
