Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect / Lead Snowflake Engineer to lead the design, setup, and implementation of a Snowflake Data Warehouse from the ground up. This role will drive end-to-end architecture, environment setup, security configuration, and performance optimization in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and architect a scalable Snowflake environment from scratch including database, schemas, roles, warehouses, and integrations.
Define and implement best practices for Snowflake setup, including data modeling, access control, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to design efficient ELT pipelines.
Establish Dev, QA, and Prod environments with CI/CD and version control integrations.
Implement security, governance, data sharing, and monitoring strategies aligned with enterprise standards.
Guide and mentor development teams on Snowflake usage and standards.
Required Skills:
Proven expertise in Snowflake architecture and implementation.
Strong experience in setting up Snowflake from scratch, including role-based access control, virtual warehouses, and data sharing.
Hands-on skills in SQL performance tuning, data modeling (Star/Snowflake schema), and ELT/ETL pipelines.
Familiarity with tools like dbt, Airflow, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, and cloud storage (S3, GCS, Azure Blob).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD integration.
Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Snowflake certification (Architect or Advanced Developer).
Experience with DataOps, data governance tools, and compliance frameworks.
Exposure to migration projects from legacy data warehouses to Snowflake.
