The team you will be a part of
You will join a high-impact, global Model-Based Design (MBD) & Controls team responsible for driving the digital transformation of our product development lifecycle. Our team focuses on "Shift-Left" strategies, utilizing advanced simulation, virtual integration, and automation to deliver robust software solutions for complex product platforms. We bridge the gap between physical hardware and digital controls, ensuring world-class product performance and reliability.
This Role In Summary
As a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical anchor for MBD activities across our global product platforms. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable control architectures, oversee the full V-model development cycle, and drive strategic initiatives in software virtualization (SIL/HIL). This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in Embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink, combined with the leadership needed to mentor engineers and align stakeholders on long-term technology roadmaps.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Architecture & Design: Lead the development of system-level architecture models and modular control algorithms, ensuring high reusability across product variants.
- Technical Governance: Oversee and conduct rigorous reviews for MBD models, auto-generated code, static/dynamic analysis, and V&V reports (MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL).
- Standardization: Define and enforce best practices for plant modeling, control design, and FMU-based model exchanges.
- Automation & Tools: Identify and deploy automation tools for CI/CD pipelines, wrapper file generation, and automated test execution to drive efficiency.
- Mentorship & Growth: Serve as a technical coach to junior engineers, assisting in the development of their Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and conducting specialized training sessions.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide strategic progress updates to global and cross-regional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project tollgates and roadmaps.
Education: BE/B.Tech (9–13 years of experience) or ME/M.Tech (8–13 years of experience).
- Specialization: Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Domain: Significant experience in Embedded C, Software Architecture, Microcontrollers, and the behavior of electronic components.
Drive algorithm and controls technology roadmap, including architecture reuse, integration strategy, and simulation capability growth.
- Define and execute Verification & Validation (MIL/SIL/HIL) strategy, ensuring adherence to software release guidelines and quality standards.
- Own project execution, maintaining project plans, dashboards, KPIs, and delivery metrics to ensure predictable outcomes.
- Support builds, internal integration events, and release readiness activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure process compliance, quality governance, and continuous improvement across programs.
- Build and grow team capabilities through innovation initiatives, proofs-of-concept, and knowledge reuse.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to engineers; support hiring, performance management, and talent development.
- Manage external partner and vendor interactions as required to support program delivery.
