
Overview
Design, configure, and deploy local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network systems.
Implement network infrastructure changes and upgrades to meet organizational requirements.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of the network.
Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot network issues, and resolve connectivity problems.
Sound knowledge of core IT infrastructure like Servers, Switch, routers and VMware TechnologySound knowledge of Firewalls.
Sound knowledge of Backup management
Knowledge of Exchange compliance, System audits, Cyber Security, IT Policies documentation and Implementation.
Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems and servers.
This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our trading infrastructure in organizations that rely on Linux environments.
Installation: Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems (such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.) on servers and workstations.
Updates & Patch Management: Applying updates, patches, and fixes to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date.
User Accounts: Creating, managing, and removing user accounts and groups.
Firewalls & Access Control: Implementing and managing firewalls, security policies, and access control to protect the system from unauthorized access.
System Monitoring: Continuously monitoring system logs and security alerts to identify and respond to potential threats or vulnerabilities.
Network Configuration: Configuring and managing network interfaces, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and other networking services on Linux systems.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing network-related issues and ensuring optimal network performance.
Monitoring: Setting up and managing monitoring tools to track system performance, uptime, and resource usage.
Performance Tuning: Analyzing system performance and tuning system parameters to optimize performance.
Backup Solutions: Implementing and managing backup solutions (such as rsync, Bacula, or commercial tools) to ensure regular and reliable backups of critical data.
Disaster Recovery: Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to restore systems and data in case of hardware failures or other catastrophic events.
Scripting: Writing and maintaining shell scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate repetitive tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and deployments.
Configuration Management: Using configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate system configurations and deployments.
Virtualization Management: Managing virtual machines using tools like KVM, VMware, or VirtualBox.
Database Servers: Installing, configuring, and managing database servers (such as MySQL, PostgreSQL) running on Linux.
Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Issue Resolution: Diagnosing and resolving system issues, whether they are related to hardware, software, or network configurations.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other IT professionals, such as network engineers, developers, and security teams, to ensure seamless operations.
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.).
Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies.
Experience with security best practices and tools (firewalls, encryption, auditing).
Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex environments.
