Linux System Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a mid-level Linux System Administrator to join our team. This role focuses on Linux system administration, automation, and security across Virtualized environments.

The position requires knowledge in Linux Operating System Administration, OLVM and VMware Hypervisor/VM Administration, Dell Server Remote Administration, Virtual/Physical Server Lifecycle Management, Vulnerability Management, and Automation (Ansible, Shell scripting, Python).

Key Responsibilities:

• Linux System Administration : Deploy, install, configure, manage and troubleshoot virtualized Linux Operating Systems including RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu.
• Virtualization : Deploy, configure, manage and troubleshoot virtual machines and their related virtual hardware in Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) and VMware Hypervisor environments.
• Infrastructure : Remotely configure, manage and troubleshoot DELL Poweredge Servers via remote access console.
• Vulnerability Management : Work with security tools (Tenable) and team to identify and eliminate server vulnerabilities, implement security best practices, system hardening, and compliance frameworks.
• Automation & Scripting : Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Lifecycle Management : Utilize DRAC, Red Hat Satellite and Foreman for system lifecycle management and updates.
• Configuration Management : Document in Confluence, maintain and enforce configuration and process standards across Linux environments.
• Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve system-related issues and Jira tickets, ensuring high availability and performance of production systems.
• Source Control & Change Management : Utilize Git for version control and change tracking.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery : Ensure consistency of backups in Druva, test disaster recovery plans and failover mechanisms.
• Teamwork & Communication : Ensure timely communication on all Jira tickets & tasks, production impacting changes, E-Mails and Microsoft Teams messages.
  

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong knowledge in Linux Operating System Environments.
• Proficiency in Ansible, Bash scripting, and Python for automation.
• Hands-on experience with OLVM Hypervisor
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite and Foreman for system lifecycle management.
• Strong security awareness, including system hardening and access control.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• RHCSA certification (preferred).
• Experience with networking fundamentals (firewall rules, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, PRTG).
• Familiarity with security tools (Tenable, Crowdstrike)
• Experience with ticketing systems (Jira)
• Understanding of storage solutions and backup strategies.
