Overview
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Linux System Administrator /DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Linux server management, scripting, cloud platforms, and DevOps tools. You will play a critical role in maintaining our server environments, automating operational tasks, and supporting cross-functional teams with infrastructure and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Linux-based servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Demonstrate strong command-line proficiency with both basic and advanced Linux commands.
- Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate server tasks and manage bidirectional SFTP file transfers.
- Work with monitoring and alerting tools like New Relic, Zabbix, and Mailgun, proactively identifying and resolving system issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, patching, backup, and troubleshooting across environments.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to support CI/CD pipelines, code deployments, and release processes.
- Write infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Configure and manage HAProxy load balancers to ensure efficient traffic distribution and service redundancy.
- Manage version control using Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Git Bash
- Work with MySQL databases, including basic administration, query optimization, and user management
- Utilize foundational AWS cloud knowledge across services like EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc
- Support development teams with basic programming knowledge in C++/Python and foundational understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Linux systems administration (CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu).
- Proficiency in Shell scripting and file automation via SFTP.
- Experience working with monitoring and notification tools like New Relic, Zabbix, and Mailgun.
- Familiarity with MySQL or similar relational database systems.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS services.
- Hands-on with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Experience with load balancer configuration, especially HAProxy.
- Proficiency in using Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, and other version control tools.
- Knowledge of C++ or Python programming languages and basic DSA concepts.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified (Foundational or higher) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes is a bonus.
- Exposure to Jenkins, Ansible, or other automation tools is a plus.
