Linux & Windows System Administrator

Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual).
• Manage Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and domain services.
• Administer cPanel, WHM, Plesk, and similar control panels.
• Manage virtual environments using Hyper-V, VMware, and OpenStack.
• Deploy and manage cloud resources (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC) in AWS.
• Automate infrastructure and workflows using scripts and tools (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, CloudFormation).
• Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
• Monitor system performance metrics (CPU, memory, network, storage).
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and system errors.
• Set up and maintain monitoring tools and alerts for proactive maintenance.
• Implement robust server and network security protocols.
• Apply system patches, updates, and configuration changes regularly.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO, HIPAA as applicable).
• Maintain intrusion detection, firewall, and endpoint protection systems.
• Design and execute backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
• Regularly test restore processes to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Respond to and resolve Tier-2 and Tier-3 helpdesk tickets related to servers and infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT team members.
• Collaborate with network, security, and software teams to support enterprise systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
• Liaise with vendors for hardware/software issues and escalated support.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in managing both Windows and Linux server environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible is a plus).
• Proficient in scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, IP routing, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,858.88 - ₹50,525.91 per month
