Manual & Algorithm Test Engineer

Overview

• Perform manual testing of execution algorithms, calculations, and rule-based logic
• Validate algorithm outputs against expected mathematical, statistical, or business results
• Design and execute test cases, scenarios, and test data for complex trading logic
• Test edge cases, boundary conditions, and exception handling in trading systems
• Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual results and report defects clearly
• Collaborate with developers to understand algorithm logic and assumptions
• Verify data integrity, input transformations, and output accuracy
• Perform regression testing after algorithm updates or optimizations
• Document test results, validation reports, and defect logs
• Participate in requirement reviews to identify risks Skills Expertise :
• Strong experience in Capital Market / Trading domain (India)
• Knowledge of OMS / RMS / Trading Platforms
• Understanding of exchanges like National Stock Exchange, Bombay Stock Exchange, or Multi Commodity Exchange
• Experience testing execution algorithms like VWAP, TWAP, Smart Order Skills :
• Strong Manual Testing experience
• SQL for data validation
• Advanced Excel for calculation verification
• Basic Python for validation scripts
• API testing using Postman/SoapUI
• Test case design & defect to Have :
• Automation testing knowledge
• FIX Protocol knowledge
