We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketplace Data Analyst who brings a strong blend of analytical thinking, marketplace insight, and hands-on experience in managing and optimizing product listings. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can juggle multiple responsibilities, and has deep familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, or others.
This role is pivotal to ensuring that our product listings remain competitive, well-optimized, and strategically aligned with our overall sales and marketing goals.
Key Responsibilities
Marketplace Data Analysis & Performance Tracking
- Analyze performance data from various marketplaces to uncover trends, optimize listings, and improve conversion rates.
- Track and report KPIs such as sales velocity, click-through rates, return rates, and competitor pricing.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Analyze business performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve key metrics.
Product Listing Management
- Audit and optimize product listings including titles, descriptions, keywords, pricing, and images for maximum visibility and conversions.
- Conduct A/B testing on product attributes and monitor performance improvements.
- Ensure listings meet the compliance and format guidelines of each marketplace.
Multitasking & Cross-functional Coordination
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects such as product launches, seasonal updates, and promotional campaigns across marketplaces.
- Collaborate with marketing, inventory, catalog, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Handle real-time troubleshooting of listing issues, suppressed products, or customer feedback alerts.
Competitor & Market Insights
- Monitor competitor listings, pricing strategies, and reviews to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Conduct market research to evaluate new trends, category expansion opportunities, and marketplace algorithm changes.
- Benchmark performance against competitors using data-driven insights.
Data Extraction & Automation
- Extract and analyze product and competitor data using web scraping tools or marketplace APIs where permitted.
- Automate recurring reports and develop tools to streamline data monitoring tasks.
Data Hygiene & Documentation
- Maintain clean and structured datasets for listing metadata, category mapping, and pricing history.
- Document processes, performance summaries, and recommended actions clearly for team reference.
Stakeholder Reporting & Communication
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Communicate findings effectively through clear data storytelling and visualization.
Experience
- 2+ years in a data or operations role focused on marketplace or e-commerce platforms.
- Hands-on experience in managing product catalogs and listings on platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, etc.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL; working knowledge of Python or R is a plus.
- Experience with marketplace dashboards (e.g., Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub).
- Familiarity with web scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium) and listing automation solutions.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) is desirable.
