Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Application Developer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying mobile applications that support forest cover change detection, patrolling, and working plan validation. This role requires expertise in implementing GPS tracking, offline functionality, multimedia reporting, and ensuring integration with geospatial dashboards. The developer will also participate in field testing, user training, and provide technical support to ensure successful adoption by field staff and government stakeholders.

Technical Assessment GridTasks of the Mobile Application Developer:

• Design and develop mobile applications for forest cover change detection, patrolling, and working plan validation.
• Implement features such as GPS tracking, offline functionality, and multimedia reporting in the applications.
• Conduct field testing of the applications and refine them based on feedback from the Forest Department and GIZ.
• Ensure seamless integration of mobile applications with the geospatial dashboard.
• Provide user training and support to field staff for effective adoption of the applications.

Qualifications of the Mobile Application Developer:

Education/Training:

• University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Language:

• Business English language skills.

General Professional Experience:

• 6 years of professional experience in mobile application development.

Specific Professional Experience:

• 4 years of experience in developing mobile applications for forestry or environmental monitoring.

Regional Experience:

• 1 year of experience in South Asia.

Development Cooperation (DC) Experience:

• 1 year of experience in DC projects.
