About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive MSSQL Server & SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and ensure the availability of our MS SQL Server database environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in database infrastructure administration, hands-on experience with high availability solutions, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize MS SQL performance. This role also requires excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable, and secure SQL Server database solutions.
• Optimize complex queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to enhance performance.
• Analyze execution plans and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure best practices in database design and access.
• Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and DMVs.
• Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping).
• Enforce database security policies and manage user roles and permissions.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and standards.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

MSSQL Server & SQL Database Administrator Skills (4+ years):

• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server installation, configuration, and administration.
• Hands-on experience with Availability Groups, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Solid understanding of MS SQL Server authentication, login, and user management.
  
  

Performance Troubleshooting & Optimization (2+ years):

• Proven experience in diagnosing MS SQL performance issues.
• Proficiency in query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)

• Experience with cloud-based SQL solutions (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.).
• Knowledge of automation using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Exposure to database migration and upgrade projects.
  
  

Mode: Work from Office

Work Location: Mumbai

Working Hours: 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST or 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST (as per the US daylight saving schedule)
