Position: Network Administrator & Lab Assistant

Location: Vathar

Requisites:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in system/network administration or lab assistant role preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools and platforms (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, OpenCV).
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux).
• Basic networking (IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Understanding of programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python).
• Knowledge of virtualization tools or cloud platforms is a plus.
• Good problem-solving and technical support skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently when required.

Responsibilities:

1. Lab Management & Support:

• Set up, configure, and maintain lab systems, software, and AI tools (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Jupyter, Anaconda).
• Support faculty and students during lab sessions, workshops, and project work.
• Ensure all lab systems are secure, functional, and updated with the latest software and tools.

2. Network Administration:

• Manage and maintain department-level network infrastructure (LAN, switches, routers, internet access).
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
• Implement basic network security protocols, firewalls, and user access control.

3. System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform regular system updates, antivirus checks, and hardware inspections.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software problems reported by students or faculty.
• Maintain backups and ensure data security across lab systems.

4. Support for Teaching & Projects:

• Assist students in programming, system setup, and use of AI tools or databases.
• Provide support for online assessments, coding competitions, and AI model training.
• Help in the installation and testing of new development platforms or machine learning frameworks.

5. Documentation & Inventory:

• Maintain documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, and IP allocations.
• Keep track of software licenses, hardware inventory, and service logs.
• Assist in preparing reports related to lab usage, system issues, and maintenance schedules.
