Network Engineer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime. The role includes designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. They need to have strong troubleshooting skills and be able to work with others to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage advanced network solutions, including VLANs, and hybrid networks, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
• Configure and optimize Access Control Lists (ACL), firewall policies, switches, and routers for secure network traffic control and segmentation.
• Implement and manage advanced routing protocols and redundancy protocols to ensure optimal data flow, failover, and network reliability.
• Utilize Quality of Service (QoS) settings, load balancing, and traffic shaping to optimize network performance and prioritize critical applications and services.
• Deploy security measures like IPS/IDS, VPNs, FIREWALL configurations, network access control (NAC), and endpoint security policies to protect against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
• Develop network automation scripts (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline configuration tasks and utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark) to proactively troubleshoot and maintain network health.
• Configure and manage Network Address Translation (NAT), switches, VLANs, and traffic management policies for efficient resource utilization and network segmentation.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, security configurations, firewall settings, and redundancy planning, ensuring efficient maintenance, updates, and disaster recovery.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering or IT support.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ (preferred but not required).
