Overview
We are seeking an experienced Palo Alto IPS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and management of Palo Alto Networks' Intrusion Prevention System to safeguard our organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats.

- IPS Configuration and Management: Configure and manage Palo Alto IPS to protect against network-based threats, ensuring optimal system performance and security.
- Threat Detection and Prevention: Develop, implement, and maintain IPS policies to detect and mitigate threats, intrusions, and attacks.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts, analyze potential threats, and provide timely incident response.
- Threat Intelligence: Utilize threat intelligence sources to stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities, updating IPS configurations accordingly.
- Incident Response: Lead or support security incident investigations, providing detailed analysis and implementing corrective measures.
- Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports on IPS activity, incidents, and trends. Maintain comprehensive documentation of IPS configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work with other cybersecurity and IT teams to integrate IPS capabilities into broader security strategies and initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure IPS operations comply with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security, specifically with Palo Alto Networks IPS.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Palo Alto Networks IPS.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, threat detection, and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with security monitoring tools and SIEM platforms.
- Familiarity with other Palo Alto security features and products.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with automation and scripting for IPS management.
- Knowledge of advanced threat detection techniques and technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud security and Palo Alto Networks’ cloud offerings.
- Understanding of compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
