Job Description
As part of the team, you will deliver comprehensive Optical professional services, focusing on NMS, network design, NE integration, and network transformation. You will lead automation initiatives, manage system installations and upgrades, and ensure smooth network operations through commissioning, backup, and restoration tasks. Your expertise in Optical technologies and NMS platforms will be key in preparing technical documentation, executing tests, and providing ongoing support throughout project execution and customer deployments.

About The Team
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
As part of the team, you will deliver comprehensive Optical professional services, focusing on NMS, network design, NE integration, and network transformation. You will lead automation initiatives, manage system installations and upgrades, and ensure smooth network operations through commissioning, backup, and restoration tasks. Your expertise in Optical technologies and NMS platforms will be key in preparing technical documentation, executing tests, and providing ongoing support throughout project execution and customer deployments.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NMS, network design, NE integration, and network transformation activities related to the Optical portfolio.
- Lead automation delivery efforts, extending and expanding automation solutions across Optical services.
- Install, upgrade, and migrate OS/NMS systems, ensuring smooth integration and system compatibility.
- Commission, upgrade, backup, and restore NE systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Prepare technical design documents including HLD, LLD, DCN, and synchronization documents, using relevant design tools.
- Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs) tailored to specific customer requirements and scenarios.
- Define test cases and execute acceptance tests, ensuring system readiness and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support during project execution, collaborating with PM/TPM and supporting the offer phase with PLM to assess feasibility, effort, and cost.
You have:
- Expert knowledge of NMS, Optical network design, NE integration, and network transformation for Optical portfolios.
- Experience with OS/NMS installations, upgrades, migrations, backup/restore, and high availability configurations.
- Strong understanding of Optical technologies like DWDM, OTN, and GMPLS/GMRE.
- Proficient in using planning tools, Visio drawings, and creating technical design documents (HLD, LLD, DCN).
- Expertise in fault management, service creation, and network integration/transformation.
- Strong hands-on experience in scripting, automation frameworks, and system troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with microservices, Docker, Kafka, and external authentication systems like LDAP, RADIUS, TACACs, AD.
- Experience with optical transmission equipment, preferably Alcatel-Lucent transport product line (DWDM/OTN-PSS).
