About the Role
As a QA Engineer at houzecheck.com, you will be responsible for testing new software
products to ensure they meet all specifications and requirements. You will collaborate closely
with our developers and product managers as part of a feature team. Your primary goal will be
to maintain and enhance our test suites, debug software, and uphold our high standards of
product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse Requirements: Review requirements, specifications, and technical design
documents to provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Test Execution: Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases, then
analyse results.
- Documentation & Reporting: Record testing phases and defects in comprehensive
logs; report bugs and errors to the development team.
- Troubleshooting: Work alongside developers and product managers to diagnose,
debug, and resolve issues.
- Post-Release Testing: Conduct thorough post-release and post-implementation testing
to ensure stability and functionality.
- Test Plans & Coordination: Develop detailed, comprehensive test plans and test
cases; estimate, prioritise, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- Automation & Tools:
- API Testing: Experience with tools such as Karatelabs, Postman, or SoapUI.
- UI Testing: Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Test Management: Use test management software like Jira Xray or Testomate.
- App Testing: Experience with Appium for mobile application testing.
- Cross-Browser Automation: Use services such as BrowserStack.
- Load & Performance Testing: Employ tools like JMeter, k6, Locust, or Artillery.
- CI/CD Pipeline: Proficient with platforms such as GitHub Actions, Octopus, or
Jenkins.
Quality Focus: Develop and apply testing processes for both new and existing products
to meet client needs.
- Monitoring & Updates: Track and manage the debugging process; stay up to date with
new testing tools and best practices.
About You
- Experience: At least 4 years as a Quality Assurance Tester or in a similar role.
- Methodology & Software: Proven track record with Agile project management, QA
methodology, and test management solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong JavaScript skills.
Proficiency in Git for version control.- Hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (e.g. Karatelabs, Postman,
SoapUI).
- Performance testing skills with tools like Artillery, JMeter, or similar.
- Experience in UI automation using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Mindset: Customer-centric, detail-oriented, innovative, and able to prioritise effectively
under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Advantageous: Previous experience in a fast-growing organisation and a BSc/MSc in
Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
