Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/Test Engineer with strong expertise in investment banking applications. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of complex financial systems through rigorous testing and validation. This role demands a solid grasp of investment banking products, trade lifecycle, and regulatory frameworks, paired with excellent testing and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive functional, integration, regression, and back-end testing of investment banking applications.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems through SQL-based validation.
- Collaborate with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality test cases.
- Analyze business processes and financial workflows to develop appropriate test plans and scenarios.
- Perform testing of APIs and web services using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as MiFID II, EMIR, Basel III, etc.
- Work across Agile and Waterfall environments, contributing to test documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify, document, and track defects and work closely with teams to resolve issues promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in QA/testing within investment banking or financial institutions.
- Deep understanding of investment banking products such as Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX, etc.
- Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle and post-trade processes.
- Proficient in SQL for data validation and back-end testing.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with API/Web Services testing (Postman, SoapUI).
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, Basel III).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a large financial institution or investment bank.
- Exposure to automation frameworks is a plus.
