Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Assurance Automation Tester to join our team in Gurugram. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and executing automated tests for both user interfaces and APIs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web applications and backend services through comprehensive automation coverage, rigorous testing, and effective bug identification and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks and test scripts for web UI and API testing.
• Implement automation tests using industry-standard tools, with a focus on Selenium for UI automation and Rest Assured for API automation.
• Integrate automation tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.
• Develop and execute automated test cases for new features and regression testing.
• Perform comprehensive web application and backend services testing, including functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify defects that may not be covered by automated tests.
• Apply a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the bug life cycle to effectively manage and track defects.
• Design and execute detailed test cases for backend services and APIs.
• Utilize tools like Rest Assured for automating API tests, ensuring data integrity and functionality.
• Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) to validate data, set up test data, and analyze test results.
• Utilize Linux/Unix commands for debugging and interacting with backend systems.
• Identify, document, and report bugs clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
• Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and troubleshoot defects.
• Track the status of bugs throughout their lifecycle and verify fixes.
• Contribute to the improvement of the bug reporting and defect management process.
• Contribute to the creation and review of test plans, test cases, and test strategies.
• Provide regular and accurate reports on testing progress, test coverage, and defect status to stakeholders.
• Identify and assess potential risks and errors within the application under test.
• Participate in root cause analysis of defects to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the development process.
• Communicate technical concepts and testing results clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Tackle ambiguous and undefined problems with a proactive and analytical approach.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to debug issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Exhibit a passion for finding difficult bugs and "breaking the system" through creative and thorough testing.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Automation testing for both User Interface (UI) and API.
• Strong experience in testing web applications and backend services.
• Proven experience in system testing, understanding of the Bug life cycle, Test plan creation, and reporting.
• Well-versed in web UI testing, API testing, and Mobile testing concepts and debugging techniques.
• Hands-on experience with database systems (both SQL and NoSQL) for data validation and test data management.
• Proficiency in using Linux/Unix commands for accessing logs, monitoring processes, and basic system interactions.
• Hands-on experience with API automation using Rest Assured is essential.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools like Selenium is essential.
• Ability to recognize and assess risks and potential errors in a software application.
• Ability to deal with ambiguous and undefined problems effectively.
• Experience in debugging and performing root cause analysis to identify the source of defects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for software testing and test automation.
• A strong desire and ability to thoroughly test and identify critical bugs.
