About Job
The Performance Test Engineer is a key position within the Quality Assurance team within Salesforce Professional Services. The Performance Test Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, using automated performance testing tools, collecting & analyzing multiple metrics, and simulating system behavior to improve the performance and reliability of Salesforce applications. This role works in collaboration with Performance Test Architect relying on experience and judgment to ensure the appropriate level of performance testing is incorporated into our customer implementations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing Performance Testing efforts end-to-end including: Test Plan, Automated Testing scripts and scenarios, Implementing Test Monitoring strategy, Test Execution, and Publishing Reports to multiple audiences. · Works closely with internal and customer teams to understand performance testing requirements, coordinate testing activities, manage dependencies, track status and communicate test results. · Translate performance testing requirements into real-life scenarios including performance regression tests, performance, load, stress, endurance as needed. · Collect and aggregate performance test data for later Data Analysis including root-cause analysis, bottleneck identification, troubleshooting, capacity planning, etc. · Ability to implement, recommend and use multiple performance testing and monitoring tools. · Interact, communicate and follow through with development & customer teams throughout the performance testing phases. · Ability to adapt to customer processes and integrate them into day-to-day work as needed without compromising best practices and quality.
Position Requirements:
BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. · Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Performance Test Engineer role. · Desired experience or familiarity with the Salesforce platform. · Strong understanding of Performance Testing methodologies. · At least 3 years of hands on experience with At least 3 years of hands on experience with Jmeter Strong programming experience with at least 1 of the following: C, Java, C# or Javascript. · Excellent understanding of Systems Architecture, web technologies and operating systems. · Experience troubleshooting, debugging, customizing performance testing scripts and familiar with concepts like test data parameters, think time, transactions, correlations, assertions. · Able to comprehend high level the multiple components of a web application including tiers, resources, components, services, network from a performance assessment perspective. · Design effective tests based on goals and requirements, understands concurrency, ramp up/down conditions, and different types of testing like scalability, load, performance, endurance, etc. · Understand performance test data requirements and can define the corresponding Test Data Management strategy. · Knows how to identify transactions and workflows and use things like think time, pacing, TPS in order to create realistic load testing scenarios. · SQL Query knowledge. · Deep experience analyzing and interpreting performance test results, and leading root-cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts. · Ability to adapt to short sprint cycles (2 weeks). · Experience in the full software life cycle from design to deployment. · Excellent communication skills required and able to work independently.
