About the Role:
As a Senior AI Engineer at EG Healthcare, you'll play a key role in delivering scalable and responsible AI solutions tailored to the European healthcare landscape. From clinical decision support to administrative automation, your work will directly contribute to transforming care journeys for providers and patients alike.
You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to build AI systems that are not only innovative but also secure, ethical, and aligned with EU regulatory frameworks like GDPR and MDR.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end AI/ML models across the EG Healthcare platform, focusing on real-world clinical and operational use cases.
- Work closely with product managers, domain experts, and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and robust model training environments.
- Lead initiatives around MLOps, model monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Apply AI responsibly and ethically, ensuring compliance with EU data privacy and medical device regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions at scale.
- Proficiency in Python and core AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
- Solid understanding of MLOps practices and experience with platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with European healthcare systems, terminologies (e.g., ICD-10, SNOMED CT), and regional health data formats.
- Experience working with sensitive data in compliance with GDPR and other European data protection standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with LLMs, NLP, or clinical language processing in a European context.
- Background in real-world applications like patient pathway optimization, risk stratification, or care triage.
- Knowledge of CE marking processes, MDR, or working on AI-based software as a medical device.
- Familiarity with HL7/FHIR standards and integrations across Nordic healthcare systems.
