Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to join our dynamic mobile development team.
As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative Android applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient apps.
You will be expected to bring your deep expertise in Android development to lead projects, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in app architecture, coding, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a key role in designing and developing innovative Android applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient apps.
You will be expected to bring your deep expertise in Android development to lead projects, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in app architecture, coding, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Android applications.
- Ensure applications are developed with best practices in terms of performance, user experience, and code quality.
- Architect and implement complex app features such as offline storage, notifications, background processing, and location services.
- Provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews, and providing feedback to ensure code quality.
- Stay up-to-date with Android development trends, tools, and best practices, bringing new ideas and technologies to the team.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define app requirements and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Optimize app performance, including memory management, threading, and efficient data handling.
- Diagnose and resolve app performance issues, bugs, and crashes in production environments.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless and consistent design implementation.
- Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and third-party services.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure thorough testing and validation of the app.
- Develop unit tests, UI tests, and integrate testing frameworks such as JUnit, Espresso, or Mockito to ensure app quality and stability.
- Implement automated testing where applicable to reduce manual testing efforts and improve development efficiency.
- Manage app releases to the Google Play Store, ensuring all technical requirements and store guidelines are followed.
- Monitor app performance after deployment, analyze user feedback, and implement necessary updates and enhancements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Break down features and work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of published apps in the Google Play Store.
- Expert knowledge of Java and Kotlin, the primary programming languages for Android.
- Strong experience with Android SDK and development tools like Android Studio.
- Solid understanding of Android architecture components (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, etc.) and modern Android development practices (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON parsing in Android apps.
- Familiarity with third-party libraries and APIs (e.g., Retrofit, Glide, Firebase, etc.).
- Deep understanding of Android UI/UX design principles, including working with ConstraintLayout, RecyclerView, and Material Design components.
- Strong experience with database management (e.g., SQLite, Room Database, or other local storage methods).
- Experience in unit testing and UI testing using tools like JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito.
- Solid knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of app security best practices and implementation.
- Experience with app performance tuning, profiling, and debugging tools (e.g., Android Profiler, LeakCanary).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
