Overview

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate and data-driven insights into performance management, specifically focusing on HQ FP&A, Business Analytics to support Region & Terminal finances. It involves comprehensive involvement in financial reporting, optimizing processes, conducting detailed financial planning, budgeting and analysis. Effective communication with management across various levels and business segments is key, facilitating informed decision-making. As an integral part of the HQ and frontline team, the role actively engages in cross-functional initiatives to drive improvements, enhancing overall business analytics efficiency and contributing to strategic objectives with a proactive approach.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop standardized templates and frameworks for financial analysis and reporting that align with HQ, Region and Terminal priorities. Implement automated tools where possible to streamline data collection and analysis. Regularly review and update these frameworks based on feedback and changing business needs.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current financial reporting processes to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with IT and finance teams to prioritize enhancements that improve data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and user experience. Implement robust testing procedures to ensure stability after upgrades or changes.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where FP&A and FBP teams regularly share insights and analysis. Encourage a culture of constructive challenge to ensure thorough evaluation of business performance. Implement regular cross-functional meetings to discuss findings and implications for strategic decisions.
  • Establish clear communication protocols for disseminating financial analysis findings to stakeholders and decision-makers. Use visuals such as graphs and charts to simplify complex financial data. Provide training to stakeholders on interpreting financial reports to ensure understanding and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Implement a rigorous quality control process to verify the accuracy of financial insights before dissemination. Develop dashboards or reports that provide transparency on costs, revenues, and profitability tailored to the needs of different stakeholders. Ensure timely delivery through predefined reporting schedules and proactive communication of any delays.
  • Collaborate closely with the HQ/Region/Terminal Leadership Team to align budgeting and forecasting processes with strategic goals. Facilitate workshops or planning sessions to gather input from key stakeholders. Use historical data and market trends to provide informed forecasts that support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop a knowledge-sharing platform or repository to document and disseminate best practices across. Facilitate regular workshops or webinars to promote adoption and implementation of standardized practices. Monitor and evaluate adoption rates to identify business needing additional support or resources.
  • Conduct a gap analysis to identify inconsistencies or inefficiencies in current FP&A reporting structures. Collaborate with Terminal FBPs and Head of Finance to develop a standardized reporting framework that meets business needs. Provide training and ongoing support to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
  • Establish a proactive analysis schedule to regularly review financial trends and conduct simulations to forecast potential outcomes. Actively engage with stakeholders to understand their challenges and provide tailored financial insights. Develop a reputation as a trusted advisor by consistently delivering actionable recommendations based on thorough analysis.

Implementing these recommendations can enhance the effectiveness of the role in providing accurate financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

  • Conduct comprehensive stakeholder engagement to understand current challenges. Develop and implement standardized processes aligned with strategic goals. Establish clear metrics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Gather user requirements through workshops and feedback sessions. Design interactive dashboards with drill-down capabilities for deeper insights. Provide training and support to empower users in utilizing Power BI effectively.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and areas for standardization across teams. Facilitate Kaizen workshops to brainstorm, map processes, and implement improvements. Monitor outcomes, adjust strategies, and promote a culture of ongoing improvement.

Experience And Qualification

  • Master's in finance (CA/MBA-finance)
  • 10+ years of finance and analysis experience
  • Expertise in financial modelling and forecasting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MiniTab, BI/BW, Power BI
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in finance discipline
  • Engages with stakeholders globally
  • Applies subject matter expertise to solve business issues
  • Familiar with business interdependencies.
