The Senior HR Business and Functional Analyst leads solution design, requirement gathering, and cross-functional alignment for SAP HCM OM/PA. This role partners across HR, EDM, and technical teams to deliver high-quality functional designs, resolve complex issues, improve data quality, and support enterprise HR initiatives. The Senior Analyst mentors junior analysts, ensures governance standards are met, and represents HR in enterprise modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirement discussion with HR, HRIT, and business stakeholders to define features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in SAP HCM OM/PA, ensuring accuracy and consistency of HR master data.
- Lead cross-functional impact assessments for organizational updates, integrations, security changes, and downstream dependencies.
- Oversee end-to-end testing cycles including planning, execution, regression, integration, and UAT.
- Provide clear, proactive communication to HR and IT partners throughout analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
- Review and approve functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business requirements, system best practices, and governance standards.
- Collaborate with developers, functional analysts, and architects to validate solution feasibility and technical alignment.
- Drive data quality improvements and conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Maintain documentation, decision logs, and audit-compliant records.
- Mentor junior analysts, promoting knowledge sharing and strong analysis practices.
- Represent HR and EDM in enterprise initiatives, contributing to roadmaps and continuous improvement efforts.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- 4-7 years of experience in SAP HCM with deep expertise in OM/PA data, configuration, and downstream integrations.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to anticipate system and process impacts.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex concepts to non-technical partners and influence decisions.
- Proven leadership of end-to-end testing cycles and defect management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong relationship-building skills across HR, IT, and business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with ownership and autonomy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Ability to produce high quality results, work in a collaborative environment by embracing diverse perspectives and with a solution-based approach.
- Adapt communication clearly and concisely based on team dynamics and expresses thoughts & ideas effectively.
- Ability to engage effectively with peers and stakeholders to build trust and reliable working relationships.
- Ability to understand business processes, implement innovative solutions, guide juniors on continuous improvement by constantly updating oneself on current technology & trends.
- Inquisitive to understand customer and business expectations while creating value addition on technical solutions.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in agile environments; familiarity with Agility or similar tools preferred.
- Experience in data migration, HR integrations, or dependency analysis preferred.
- Experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central is a plus.
