Senior Cloud Engineer - Citrix

Our Global CIO is leading a significant evolution of our Enterprise Technology capabilities, bringing together over 2,500 technology professionals into an integrated global team. This Team will play a crucial role in enabling the ongoing transformation of our agencies and functions.

The role is responsible for Central point for the implementing and administering and maintaining Citrix desktop and application virtualization infrastructure. This role focuses on deploying new use cases and leading the lifecycle management initiatives. Escalates issues to software vendor-specific technical support.

What you'll be doing:

• Perform advanced issue analysis and resolution.
• Perform maintenance and environment upgrades.
• Address high-security issues and service outages.
• Manage the Citrix environment.
• Manage network and storage infrastructure as it relates to the Citrix environment (depending on the size of the company or Citrix environment)
• Review periodic reports of server health, resource usage, user experience and overall environment performance.
• Review vendor knowledge base articles and newly released updates.
• Perform policy-level changes and make active directory updates.
• Review change control requests that impact the Citrix environment.
• Perform advanced server and infrastructure maintenance.
• Review knowledge base articles and issue resolution scripts for accuracy, compliance, and feasibility.
• Create knowledge-based articles and issue resolution scripts.
• Escalate the ticket to vendor-specific technical support, when necessary, and notify the level of the issue.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills to interact with team members, customers, management and support personnel (technical and nontechnical)
• Collaborate with service managers to provide client-facing support on IT.
  
  

What you'll need:

Knowledge of how the following Windows components integrate with Citrix technologies:

Understanding Cloud Architecture and System Design:

• Architect Citrix solutions within Azure cloud environments.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
• Create disaster recovery plans and ensure data integrity during migrations and deployments.
  
  

Automation Practices:

• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Azure CLI to automate repetitive tasks.
• Adopt practices to streamline deployments and enhance cloud management efficiency.
  
  

Security and Upgrades:

• Design and implement platform security measures.
• Participate in system upgrades and updates.
• Ensure off-hour upgrades and maintenance are coordinated.
• Citrix Patching, Security & Citrix Capacity and performance management
  
  

Citrix-Specific Skills:

• Citrix NetScaler: Familiarity with load balancing, security, and optimization.
• VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure): Knowledge of virtual desktop environments.
• Troubleshooting Citrix-related issues.
• Active directory Domain services, certificate services
• Policies, Domain name system (DNS), Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), Group policy objects (GPOs),
• NTFS Permissions, Authentication and authorization
• Understand Packaging concepts and methodologies and may assist with packaging application for servers and client devices
• Manage changes within the Citrix environment
  
  

Troubleshooting and Support Citrix environment:

• May provide assistance and training to other engineers.
• Provide technical guidance to operations and work together with other global engineering teams
• Ability to consult and lead knowledgeable technical staff, manage multiple tasks and projects performed by a diverse group of professionals
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong abilities to develop and enhance relationships with customers and internal groups.
• Proficient with incident and problem management, configuration management and change control policies and procedures.
• Designing and Engineering XenDesktop Infrastructure, Citrix Infrastructure, Citrix Secure Gateway, Web Interface and Citrix License Server 11.6.1 Build 1007 Infrastructure
