Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and analytics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, enabling data integration from various sources into the Operational Data Store (ODS), and supporting reporting through tools like Power BI and Apache Superset. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, BI developers, and software engineers.

- Design and implement scalable and reliable ETL pipelines to support data extraction, transformation, and loading from source systems to the ODS.
- Perform data migration activities from various source databases to ODS.
- Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including Data Lakes and File Storage systems.
- Develop and maintain data models, both logical and physical, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Implement workflows and data orchestration using Apache Airflow.
- Collaborate with BI teams to support data visualization and reporting needs using Power BI and Apache Superset.
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL to write complex queries, functions, and optimize database performance.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and availability through proper testing, monitoring, and validation processes.
- Follow best practices in data governance, including data security, lineage, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- 4-6 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in ETL tools and techniques.
- Proven experience with data migration from source systems to ODS.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and complex SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for orchestration.
- Familiarity with Data Lakes and File Storage systems (e. g., Azure Data Lake, S3).
- Good understanding of reporting tools like Power BI and Apache Superset
- Experience with version control systems (e. g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e. g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
