Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AWS and Azure cloud services, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and system administration. You will be responsible for setting up and managing infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical IT systems for development, staging, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Setup and Management
• Design, implement, and manage virtual machines using Terraform, networking, security groups, and autoscaling solutions using Terraform on AWS and Azure cloud services.
• Ensure seamless transitions between development, staging, and production environments.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code deployment processes and improve delivery efficiency.
• Set up and configure Node.js, Nginx, PM2, and manage Nginx reverse proxy and SSL certificates for secure application hosting.
• Database Management
• Deploy and manage databases on AWS RDS and Azure SQL services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• System Health Monitoring and Maintenance
• Perform regular system health checks and preventive maintenance to optimize performance and reliability.
• Ensure the timely application of OS updates, patches, and security updates.
• Backup and Recovery Planning
• Implement and manage automated backup solutions using AWS and Azure services.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including identifying critical systems, prioritizing recovery time objectives (RTO), and defining recovery steps.
• Documentation and Support
• Document client requirements, infrastructure setup, and operational procedures.
• Provide detailed support documentation and assist clients with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Incident Management and Ticket Handling
• Manage and prioritize support tickets, conducting pre-checks to determine if issues are related to infrastructure or application layers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of AWS (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS) and Azure (e.g., Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Networking).
• Proficiency in Node.js, Nginx, PM2, and SSL configuration.
• DevOps Skills:
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) and logging systems.
• System Administration:
• Expertise in managing Linux-based systems, applying updates, and ensuring security compliance.
• Disaster Recovery and Backup:
• Knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity best practices.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Ability to effectively document technical procedures and communicate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred QualificationsCertifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with load balancing, DNS management, and cloud security best practices.

The development centre (Consectus India Pvt Ltd) is based in India in Thane, Maharashtra.
