Overview
You are a DevOps engineer who builds resilient systems rather than simply responding to failures. If you find satisfaction in dissecting complex legacy architectures, engineering more efficient replacements, and eliminating manual processes through automation, this opportunity is for you. We seek a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while establishing monitoring and automation that prevent incidents before they occur.
Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We need you to unify and enhance multiple stacks without causing disruptions. Where others separate databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to maximize cost efficiency and operational simplicity across our portfolio. This position is not designed for those content with maintaining existing infrastructure; it suits someone who encounters fragmented, inconsistent systems and instinctively begins architecting improvements.
Your scope includes infrastructure migrations, AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving issues, planning and executing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating significant portions of your workload using AI/ML-driven processes. You will possess genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure—no delays waiting for approval from stakeholders who lack technical depth.
If you are a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys transforming complex systems into reliable operations, this role offers significant opportunity. If you require constant guidance, struggle with diverse technology environments, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing structure to disorder, this will not be a good fit. If you are prepared to assume ownership of a critical infrastructure position with latitude to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application today!
What You Will Be Doing
- Executing complex infrastructure changes, including migrations from legacy platforms to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migration projects
- Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and building automated solutions for monitoring, software deployment, and operational processes
- Conducting system monitoring, system backups, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost optimization activities
- Spending your time in Jira and constant status updates - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not just document issues
- Supporting legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to implement substantial improvements
- Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have authority to implement immediate fixes when responding to incidents
- Operating within narrow technical boundaries - this position demands both wide-ranging knowledge and technical depth
- Justifying budget for essential infrastructure work - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment
- Establish reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
- Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration expertise
