JOB PURPOSE & DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our newly created global network services team. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our global network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust network performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network engineering, including strong expertise in Checkpoint firewalls, Meraki platforms, network automation, and DevNet skills.
The primary focus will be on the operational management of our network, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability and reliability. The candidate will also lead network projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business goals, and support the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure solutions. Additionally, they will mentor junior engineers and work closely with regional networking teams across the world to ensure cohesive and efficient global network operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage and optimize global network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and robust performance.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Lead network projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business goals.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers.
- Ensure network security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain and manage Checkpoint firewalls and other security solutions.
- Maintain and manage global networking solutions such as Meraki, Netbox, Cisco ISE and other solutions.
- Develop and implement network automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Utilize DevNet skills to automate network tasks and streamline operations.
- Produce detailed work plans and execute regional and global projects.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with network equipment and software.
- Document network configurations and implementation tasks.
- Support and implement change management strategies.
- Travel to various locations to implement new technology and infrastructure solutions.
- Share knowledge, discoveries, ideas, challenges, and solutions with peers, managers, and executives.
- Provide emergency operational support outside office hours when necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certificates
- College degree in Computer Science, network administration, system administration or equivalent.
- Possession of valid Cisco CCNA certification is mandatory.
- Possession of any Cisco certifications like CCNP, CCIE, ECMS are an asset.
- Possession of any Cisco DevNet certifications is an asset.
- Possession of any Checkpoint certifications like CCSA, CCSE, CCSM are an asset.
- Possession of any ITIL certifications is an asset.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Extensive knowledge of network protocols and standards: IP and Ethernet technologies, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and service quality parameters (QoS)..
- Robust knowledge and hands-on experience with Checkpoint firewalls and Meraki platforms.
- Solid knowledge of telecommunication industry in the following areas: LAN, WAN, VPN, IP Telephony, network security (firewall, web filtering, IPS/IDS), wireless technology, and load balancing.
- Strong expertise in network automation and DevNet skills.
- Experience with network observability solutions and performance optimization
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with network security, including IPS/IDS, web filtering, and VPN.
- Experience with industrial networking is an asset (IT / OT).
- Experience in wireless network design and operation is an asset.
- Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies is an asset. Exposure to an International and Diversity culture is an asset.
