Overview
As a Senior Platform Engineer in our data platform engineering team, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the service layer that powers our enterprise and customer data platforms.
You’ll focus on developing the core platform services and automation that keep the platform secure, reliable, and observable — from integrations and monitoring to access management and resource provisioning. Your work will ensure that our platform operates efficiently at scale, supports self-service for data product teams, and remains compliant across environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain platform-level services and integrations, including monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Develop and automate resource provisioning, workspace onboarding, and access management (RBAC, service principals, managed identities).
- Implement API-driven automation and internal tooling to streamline platform operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Implement comprehensive observability (metrics, logs, traces) using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk.
- Manage identity and access through Azure Entra ID, ensuring least-privilege and compliance with internal policies.
- Design platform components for high availability, disaster recovery, and cost efficiency across Azure environments.
- Collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and data platform teams to ensure seamless integration, governance, and lifecycle management.
Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reproducible and consistent deployments.
,
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience (5+ years) designing and operating cloud-based data or application platforms, ideally on Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms.
- Solid understanding of identity, access, and resource management in Azure (RBAC, Entra ID, managed identities, service principals).
- Proven experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, or Grafana.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with API development and integration for platform or internal services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or Bicep) and CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
- A proactive mindset focused on resilience, scalability, and continuous improvement.
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps practices in production-grade environments.
- Experience with multi-tenant architectures (e.g., workspace or resource group isolation, catalog-per-tenant).
- Experience in AWS
- Familiarity with Azure Policy, Key Vault, and network security controls.
- Experience in cost management, chargeback models, and performance optimization.
Our data platform engineering team builds and operates both the enterprise data platform (supporting business operations and internal analytics) and the customer data platform (powering product-level data capabilities).
We focus on:
- Delivering secure, reliable, and scalable platform services for data processing and storage.
- Building automation, integrations, and observability to make the platform efficient, transparent, and self-healing.
- Enabling data product teams to onboard and operate independently through standardized APIs and templates.
- Ensuring governance, cost control, and compliance across all platform environments.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll be part of the team ensuring the platform runs seamlessly and securely — continuously improving performance, reliability, and developer experience.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to shape a modern data platform foundation used across the company.
- Work with a Azure and AWS stacks supporting both enterprise and customer-facing data products.
- Join a collaborative, engineering team with strong ownership of platform design and operations.
