Position Summary:
As a Senior Scrum Master at Josys, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our software products. You will lead Agile teams through the entire development lifecycle, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and relentless focus on delivering value to our customers. This position requires a strong background in software product engineering, including quality assurance and software development, as well as experience with Agile methodologies, various Agile frameworks, continuous delivery, DevOps, and release management.
Responsibilities:
Scrum Leadership:
- Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Empower and guide Agile teams to self-organization and cross-functionality.
- Coach team members on Agile principles and practices to ensure adherence to various Agile frameworks.
- Remove impediments and blockers that hinder team productivity and delivery.
Product Delivery:
- Collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders to refine product backlog and prioritize user stories.
- Track and communicate team progress and sprint goals, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
- Work with engineering leads to estimate and plan sprint work, ensuring realistic commitments and on-time delivery.
- Continuously monitor and improve team velocity and performance metrics.
Team Development:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning within Agile teams.
- Mentor and guide team members in Agile best practices across multiple frameworks, promoting adaptability and flexibility.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and priorities.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and negotiate scope changes when necessary.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or related field.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Scrum Master - Advanced (CSM-A) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a software product engineering environment, preferably in a SaaS product company and 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, Crystal, and XP.
- Background in quality assurance or software product development preferred.
- Experience with continuous delivery, DevOps, and release management.
- Proven track record of successfully leading Agile teams to deliver high-quality software products on schedule.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with rapidly changing priorities.
