About the team

The Rubrik Cloud Native Protection team helps customers secure their data on the cloud. Cloud data is growing at an ever growing pace and so are the risks with cyber attacks targeted towards cloud data. We make it easy for businesses to protect, search, analyze all of their cloud data simply and scalably.

Some recent/ongoing projects include:

  • Azure Blob protection and Ransomware detection handling scale of hundreds of millions of objects
  • Delivering platform security for major enterprises applying security best practices to help our customers with Rubrik as a last line of defense
  • Developing a platform for protecting relational PaaS databases across clouds.

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you are a lead in the team responsible for execution of deep problems working with few other engineers. We expect all our engineers to be self-starters and our Senior Software Engineers to be leaders bringing drive, ideas and acumen. Our goal is to motivate and challenge people to do their best work. What you'll Do

  • Build our cloud native protection software using your strong background in distributed systems and cloud.
  • Taken on open ended problems and drive the investigation and initial scoping
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.
  • Own individual project execution and delivery
  • Mentoring and guidance to other team members
  • Collaborate with partner teams such as Product Management, QA, UI, UX, documentation and support teams.

Experience and qualifications you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience,
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages like Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, Python
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP or other public cloud technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, microservice architectures is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to review deeply and expertly design and code artifacts.
  • Strong understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, design patterns, and software engineering principles. Understanding of continuous improvement principles and what it means to raise the bar.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills. Track record of mentoring other team members. Has worked on deep, complex problems independently or as part of a team on making an impactful delivery.
