Senior Software Engineer

Data Platforms is an exciting collective of teams spanning product and engineering teams. LSEG Data Platforms provides a range of tools and solutions for leading, accessing, and distributing financial data. They offer various platforms, including the LSEG Data Platform, LSEG DataScope Select, and LSEG DataScope Warehouse. These platforms enable users to access both LSEG's own data and third-party data, with options for real-time, delayed, and historical data delivery.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of sophisticated software systems in multiple areas, collaborating with multi-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, and ensuring teams performance through regular code reviews. We will offer you the opportunity to mentor and give technical guidance to team members and participate in the full software development process, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide partnership and support to SME’s and Tech Leads to ensure delivery on commitments

• Lead and Provide Technical leadership to highly skilled software Engineers
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code.
• Set and maintain high standards of coding.
• Ensure the quality and performance of the team's work through code reviews and testing
• Translate end user needs to requirements using a lightweight agile design led methodology.
• Lead design work and planning for user story board.
• Sets and completes the delivery of given tasks, delegating to the team where applicable.
• Builds unquestioning relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team.
• Connect with visibility and precision in a concise format.
• Working both independently and in partnership with colleagues within a team in an agile fashion.
• Analysis, design and implementation of sophisticated software solutions using customer focused design driven methodologies, delivered via public cloud.
• Own the migration of assets from AWS to Azure
  
  

Skills and experience:

• Strong proficiency in Java
• Experience in AWS Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Fargate, Cloudwatch, DynamoDB, Glue
• Experience in Terraform, Datadog, Gitlab and Devops.
• Experience with REST Api.
• Strong notions of security standard methodologies in AWS (e.g., using Secrets manager, IAM, Security Groups).
• Proficient in integrating, redefining, and consolidating data from various structured and unstructured data systems into a structure that is suitable for building analytics solutions.
• Ability to think strategically and operate in day-to-day delivery mode requirement of the role.
• Demonstrates ability to understand business requirements and the implications of those requirements on current and future roadmaps.
• Agile development processes (SCRUM and Kanban)
• Strong communication, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted requirements and priorities.
