As the Partners Experience team, we build and maintain product experiences and capabilities for Web Designers and Developers (WDD). We are looking for a motivated software engineer to join us in our journey to build and scale our experience capabilities that deliver world-class tools to manage WordPress, Hosting, Security and pro tools. What you'll get to do...

• Maintain the existing application stack that make up ManageWP (WordPress) product. These include AngularJS based frontend, PHP APIs, MySQL databases, RabbitMQ/SQS queues and other minor technologies used in additional functionality. They also include AWS and Datacentre infrastructure along with deployment tools and scripts. Maintenance will include strengthening our security posture, creating fault tolerance, improving observability and release pipelines.
• Modernise the application stack to simplify architecture using modern technology choices: PHP, NodeJS (Typescript), React – deployed to AWS.
• Work with product management team and Hub engineering team to increase revenue for WDD by leveraging existing capabilities from other teams (Hub, Security, Hosting), improving the user interface and workflows within the application and providing new capabilities.
• Help improve processes within the team to work with more agility.
• Improve the observability of our production services, allowing the team to quickly highlight gaps, resolve issues, and understand the performance of our systems.
• Lead by example with a high standard for coding practices, including practical coding standards, modern software development approaches, test automation, and a strong focus on security.

Your experience should include...

• At least 4 years of full stack software development experience.
• Proficient in PHP and AngularJS.
• Working with AWS and understands how to deploy applications to cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of building fault tolerant systems (observability practices, operational excellence).

You might also have...

• Experience with multiple JavaScript tooling libraries, including using webpack to ship production-ready software.
• Used infrastructure tooling like Terraform and build tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
