About The Role
Silicon Labs is building a world class Software Centre of Excellence in the best office space in Hyderabad. We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer for testing and validating the performance, functionality, and compatibility of wireless communication systems, applications, and devices. Our Hyderabad SQA team is focused on improving the overall quality of software used in Silicon Labs Wi-Fi /BT/BLE/15.4 combo chips targeting Internet of Things(IoT), Wearables & Industrial Automation applications.
As a member of the QA team, you will be tasked with ensuring comprehensive test coverage for Bluetooth Low Energy radio protocol features. You will be responsible for testing and validating our embedded products using a Python-based automated test framework. You will interact with other Software Quality Assurance (SQA) groups globally and the Software Development Team based in Budapest, Espoo (Finland).
This position is based out of Silicon Labs, Hyderabad.

SQA Team works closely with the Software Development teams to ensure a deep understanding of the product, features and system functionality.
The SQA team utilizes an internal test framework to automate all tests for repeatability and stability, providing detailed test reports on each build of the product to ensure quality assurance for our customers. The SQA team has decades of experience in delivering high-quality embedded software products to our customers, including some of the largest names in the industry.

Responsibilities
- Perform functional and non-functional automated tests for Silicon Labs’ embedded wireless products.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, strategies and approaches for Bluetooth feature testing.
- Design and implement pytest-based tests for our embedded Bluetooth solutions.
- Automate test execution and regularly monitor test results as part of continuous integration.
- Maintain, manage and improve automated test scripts, test cases and tools.
- Utilize specialized Bluetooth test tools and protocol analyzers (e.g., Ellisys, Teledyne LeCroy) to capture, decode, and analyze Bluetooth traffic.
- Analyze and debug issues found during the test cycle.
- Utilize generative AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance coding efficiency and leverage other benefits.
- Work closely with development teams to create detailed test plans and analyze the root cause of failures.
- Collaborate with application engineers to identify use cases that require automated test coverage.
- Experience:
- Over 4 years of experience in software testing/development, specializing in Bluetooth technology.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools, especially GitHub Copilot.
- Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in automation and test implementation.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- In-depth knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy technologies.
- Strong understanding of Bluetooth functionalities and use cases.
- Expertise in using Bluetooth testing tools and protocol analyzers (e.g., Ellisys).
- Experience with Bluetooth specification documentation (e.g., Bluetooth SIG), and familiarity with Bluetooth standards (e.g., Bluetooth 5.x, BLE)
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with expertise in root cause analysis through detailed test logs.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional and international teams, document test results, and present findings and status clearly to stakeholders.
- Testing Certification: ISTQB certification or equivalent training.
- Bluetooth Certification: Experience with the Bluetooth Qualification process or Bluetooth certification.
- Wireless Technologies: Experience with wireless communication technologies beyond Bluetooth (e.g., Wi-Fi, Zigbee).
- Additional Skills: Experience with C/C++ for embedded systems or low-level testing.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
