Senior Test Engineer (4+ Years Experience)
Location: Bengaluru, On-Site

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with deep expertise in functional API testing and test automation. This role sits at the intersection of Quality Assurance and Product Engineering, requiring close collaboration with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, ownership-driven, and capable of independently designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while championing quality practices across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust API and UI test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Perform comprehensive API testing — functional, integration, contract, and load — across REST and GraphQL interfaces.
• Write and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory charters for new features and regression cycles.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality feedback.
• Identify, log, and track defects using JIRA with clear reproduction steps, severity tagging, and root-cause documentation.
• Conduct performance and load testing using tools like k6, Locust, or JMeter to validate system behavior under stress.
• Drive test coverage analysis, gap identification, and quality metrics reporting to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers during code reviews to ensure testability and early defect prevention.
• Lead regression, smoke, and release validation efforts independently.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality best practices across the team.

Mandatory (Non-Negotiable) Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands-on QA experience with a strong focus on API and automation testing.
• Deep understanding of REST API concepts — HTTP methods, status codes, authentication (OAuth2, JWT, API keys), request/response validation.
• Proficiency in at least one automation language: Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with UI and API automation frameworks such as Pytest-requests, RestAssured, or Playwright.
• Experience designing test automation architecture — not just writing tests, but structuring maintainable, scalable frameworks.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, defect lifecycle, and shift-left testing principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and pipeline integration for automated test execution.

Required Skills & Tools

• Postman / Apidog — advanced API testing, collections, environments, and scripting.
• Selenium / Pytest / Playwright — automation framework development and maintenance.
• JMeter / k6 / Locust — load and performance testing.
• JIRA — defect tracking, test cycle management.
• Git — version control, branching strategy, code review participation.
• CI/CD Tools — GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent for pipeline integration.
• SQL / NoSQL basics — database validation as part of end-to-end test coverage.

Good to Have:

• Exposure to AI/ML systems testing or responsible AI evaluation frameworks.
• Knowledge of contract testing tools such as Pact.
• Experience with agentic testing architectures or MCP-based tooling.
• Background in VAPT revalidation or security-adjacent QA workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint-based delivery.
