Your Role And Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated storage software product development engineer with 2 to 5 years of product development, design, and support experience. As a vital member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing storage solution to ensure the high performance, stability, and reliability of IBM storage software.

• Software Development and Maintenance: Code, design and implementation of C/C++ software components for storage/backup products, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance guidelines.
• Product Support: Provide technical expertise and support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding database-related inquiries and issues.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Investigate and resolve complex software issues, Excellent debugging, core-dump analysis skills, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• System Programming Skills: To debug system software, analyse for performance bottle neck and remediate to improve overall system performance.
• Storage/Backup Skills: In-depth knowledge of backup technologies, such as tape libraries, disk-based backup, and cloud-based solutions.
• Database Skills: Design and optimize database schemas to ensure its scalability and optimal performance.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in database technologies, C/C++ development practices, and software design principles. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance product performance and maintainability.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data within the database.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2-5 years of experience in C/C++ system software development, including product development and support.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Expertise in systems and storage software development.
• Solid understanding of software design principles and best practices.
• Experience in optimizing multithreaded environment is a plus
• Experience with storage systems, backup environments are highly desirable.
• Experience with other databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, is a plus.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
