Software Engineer II
We have an opportunity for a Software Engineer II to join our Core DDI team in Bangalore, reporting to the senior manager of Engineering. In this role, you will work on our NIOS product with a team focused on solving massive scale performance challenges while building and maintaining next-generation network actionable intelligence products. You will also gain deep expertise in the Infoblox Network Services Appliance product line and will have an opportunity to mentor new engineers on your team. Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain features for the NIOS product using Python.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement scalable and reliable software solutions.
- Work closely with Product Management, QA, and Support teams to ensure the best end‑to‑end customer experience.
- Write high‑quality Python code that meets performance, security, and maintainability standards.
- Perform performance tuning, scalability improvements, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the product.
- Partner with sustaining engineering and customer technical support to diagnose and resolve challenging field issues.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Solid understanding of Python design patterns.
- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with performance tuning, scalability, and optimization.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP fundamentals, subnetting/CIDR, IPv4/IPv6.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, BGP, and OSPF.
- Willingness to work on NIOS platform enhancements and customer escalations.
- A positive attitude and the ability to be an effective team player.
- A four‑year degree in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent field.
First 90 Days:
- Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors ( Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work
- Discuss and create short/long term goals
- Work on feature enhancements
- Handle customer escalation
- Develop expertise on assigned modules
- Work towards becoming a subject Matter expert in your domain
- Be able to independently execute RFEs
- Be working on performance tuning and optimization
