THE TEAM
The Core Benchmarks team is a multi-regional team that is focused on building and maintaining financial data pipelines and database systems, as well as creating operational support tools that allow our systems to run effectively. We specialize in the development of tools to improve processes and maintenance of existing infrastructures that extract index data from data vendors, transform these data by applying financial logic, and load to our internal databases consumed by FactSet’s clients globally.
The team closely works with other departments within the company to ensure that FactSet’s products and technologies are responsive to the changing needs of the investment community.
You will be working with our full-fledged scrum team which deals with two-week sprint iterations.

Job Responsibilities
FactSet is seeking a software engineer with strong problem-solving skills to join our engineering team responsible for making our products more scalable and reliable. As a Software Engineer II, you are expected to:
- Learn and understand the current infrastructure that the team maintains
- Provide technical solutions with effective communication and collaboration skills
- Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed
- Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth product delivery
- Ensure high reliability and performance of our products
- Ramp up in delivering high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code, and perform regression testing of assigned tasks within the estimated timelines
- Ensure that deployed products are adequately maintained throughout their lifecycle, including participating in on-call responsibilities.
Required Skills/Experiences
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related courses
- 1-3 years of experience in the software engineering industry
- Experience of working with scripting languages for ETL purposes like Python, Perl, Bash.
- Understanding of OOP languages and database/storage solutions (e.g. Python, Perl)
- Has experience with Git-based development processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Independent, organized, and resourceful.
- Python-compatible modules and technologies (e.g., Selenium)
- Linux/Unix environment
- Agile software development (scrum is a plus)
