Department Brief
Data Solutions Engineering- Platforms and Environments is the industry leading content delivery platform. Clients seamlessly access organized and connected content that is easily discoverable, explorable, and procured via the Open:FactSet Marketplace. Data is delivered via a variety of technologies and formats that meet the needs of our clients’ workflows. By enabling our clients to utilize their preferred choice of industry standard databases, programing languages, and data visualization tools, we empower them to focus on the core competencies needed to drive their business. The SBU contributes over $173M in ASV, with a double-digit year-over-year growth rate. Our solutions portfolio includes Standard DataFeeds, Data Exploration, OnDemand (API, Views, Cornerstone, Exchange DataFeeds, Benchmark DataFeeds, the Open:FactSet Marketplace, and other non-workstation initiatives.
Data Solutions Engineering- Platforms and Environments is seeking a Software engineer to contribute to the Open: FactSet initiative, specifically in the area of Client Environments. With Client Environments, CTS is building cloud-based solutions that allow our users to more easily consume the FactSet and Provider Marketplace feeds, with a goal of providing a frictionless experience that empowers clients to focus on their core competencies rather than data management. Currently these include Data Exploration, Managed Database Services, Snowflake integration, and soon to expand into third-party data exchanges, such as the AWS Data Exchange. All of these represent areas of potential significant growth in feed sales.
Job Responsibilities
- Play a major role in building and enhancing existing and new environments to Data Exploration.
- Work with an existing Agile team and deliver on time
- Collaborate with internal groups such as Cloud Team and Standard Datafeeds
- Collaborate with external vendors such as Snowflake, Citrix and Microsoft
- Act as a mentor for entry level members within the group
- Balance stability and innovation in operational areas related to databases, runtime, on-call
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding project status, challenges and obstacles
Job Requirements
- Candidate Should have 3+ years’ experience in Python application development.
- Should have worked on Rational databases like MYSQL, PostgreSQL.
- Should have work experience in Snowflake or Databricks, first preference is Snowflake.
- Should have experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, Azure. AWS is first preference.
- Track record of success on large scale integration projects in collaboration with others Demonstrated leadership ability in projects.
- Experience with python, Powershell, and cloud based development
- Experience with Go Language is highly preferred
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks is a plus
- Relational database experience with databases such as MSSQL, Postgres
- A realistic, pragmatic approach, encouraging prototyping and iterative development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills \Strong Fundamentals in Cloud based development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
