Primary Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures
- Perform regular database backups and ensure disaster recovery readiness
- Manage database security, including user roles and permissions
- Design and implement database replication and clustering for high availability,Database Upgrade
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application requirements
- Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools
- Maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as needed
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- B.E or B.Tech
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL DBA
- Experience with MySQL replication (master-slave, master-master)
- Experience with MySQL replication (master-slave, master-master). GTID replication setup
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
- Solid knowledge of MySQL 5.7/8.0 architecture and INNODB internals
- Understanding of database security best practices
- Familiarity with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Percona XtraBackup)
- Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Proven HA solutions on Percona XtraDB Cluster
- Proven excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database for MySQL)
- Knowledge on Postgressql
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
