The Platform team is the bedrock of Instabase, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core systems that power our entire product suite. This includes our workflow orchestration and execution engine, federated data management (databases and filesystems), tools management, and connectors for seamless integration with external systems that LLMs can directly plug into. Our work enables other engineering teams to build applications on top, ultimately helping our customers automate complex processes and derive insights from unstructured data.

As a Software Engineer on the Platform Team, you will:

• Design and implement core platform components that enable efficient data ingestion, parsing, and transformation for AI/ML systems.
• Developing and enhancing core platform components to facilitate the efficient and accurate parsing of complex documents, ultimately producing high-fidelity, LLM-ready inputs.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure your components integrate seamlessly into the broader system.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and proactively participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Contribute to performance benchmarking and monitoring to ensure reliability, scalability, and robustness.
• Help investigate and troubleshoot production issues, driving improvements in stability and performance.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in backend or systems software engineering, ideally building scalable, data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Solid understanding of systems concepts including concurrency, networking, and distributed systems.
• Interest in working with AI/ML workloads, especially in processing unstructured data like documents to generate high-quality inputs for LLMs.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Clear communication and willingness to learn and grow within a highly technical team.
