Sr. Test Engineer

Your main tasks.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced backend/frontend automation test engineer to join our team in the express logistics industry. The ideal candidate will possess Tricentis TOSCA automation skills as well as manual testing, a deep understanding of logistics operations (line haul movement planning and control, both air and ground), and excellent communication abilities to facilitate effective collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Job Description
- Create test cases, write scripts, hands on Qtest Test management tool, execute components in Tricentis TOSCA.
- Execute Test cases and record associated results in TOSCA
- Defect logging in JIRA and following up to closure.
- Develop comprehensive documentation of conceptual testing requirements & test strategy.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and IT solutions, providing clarification and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful implementation of IT projects within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in aviation IT to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Maintain Smoke and Regression Test Suite.
- Able to identify defects and log them in Test Management tool.
- Develop Automation Scripts assigned and maintain Coding Standards.
- Able to manage Test engineers monitor work and review test scripts.
- Able to author test cases as per standards and prepare test data required.
- Identify critical P1 Functional/Integration defects in QA/Staging environments.
- Identify In-scope and Out of scope functionality doing Tool feasibility with guidance of Lead.
Required Technical Competencies
Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
- Good understanding of requirement gathering and analysis concepts and terminology.
- Able to independently identify, describe, and document requirements, and have experience in creating and reviewing requirements.
- Able to conduct basic analysis of requirements, such as identifying gaps and inconsistencies.
Testing Design:
- Has knowledge of test design techniques, framework, and approach.
- Can design test cases based on requirements and specifications.
- Can create test plans and strategies, identify and manage risks in the testing process, and perform exploratory testing.
Test Planning:
- Has a deeper understanding of test planning concepts and can create a comprehensive test plan.
- Can design and execute complex test cases based on multiple scenarios and variables.
- Can prioritize and report defects based on their severity and impact on the system.
Estimation and Resource Planning:
- Basic understanding of estimation and resource planning techniques, such as the WBS model.
- Ability: Identify required resources and utilize suitable estimation models for low-medium complete scenarios based on project scope.
Product/ Technology Knowledge:
- Has a solid understanding of testing processes and techniques.
- Has a good understanding of the technology and products been tested.
- Can execute tests independently and analyze results.
Test Development:
- Demonstrates a good understanding of test development principles and concepts.
- Can perform a variety of item-writing tasks with minimal supervision.
- May require some guidance in developing more complex test forms.
Customer Management:
- Has working knowledge of customer's business domain and technology suite.
- Use latest technology, proactively suggest solutions to increase business, and understand customer's business.
Knowledge Management:
- Working knowledge of Knowledge Management principles and practices.
- Able to apply the principles and practices in practical situations and use the tools and techniques effectively.
- Write technical and user understanding documents.
Domain/ Industry Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of customer's business processes and relevant technology platform or product.
- Able to prepare process maps, workflows, business cases, test cases, and test data for simple to medium requirements with the assistance of SME.
Test Execution:
- Has intermediate understanding of test execution concepts and practices.
- Can work independently, identify and prioritize test cases, execute complex test scenarios, perform regression testing, and provide clear and concise defect reports.
- May need occasional guidance and supervision for complex tasks.
Test Automation Technology/Product Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Automation tools - TOSCA
- Able to independently create and execute medium to complex automation scripts for functional testing.
- Develop automation frameworks with guidance.
