Staff Software Engineer, YouTube, OTT MediaCo, Onboarding

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in any of the following : Data Acquisition, Web Applications, User Experience, Enterprise Applications, Data Processing, Boq, Navigating Ambiguity, C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and execution for a team focused on bringing the world's premium movies, shows, news, and sports to YouTube. Be accountable for the quantity and quality of this content.
• Be accountable for the growth of MediaCos on YouTube.
• Manage premium features, promote content, understand subscriber acquisition and performance.
• Define, measure, and move metrics to understand the opportunity and health of MediaCos on YouTube.
• Hire and grow a high-performing engineering team. Set a healthy engineering culture rooted in psychological safety and collaboration.
