System Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage, maintain, and secure our college’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless network and server operations to support academic, administrative, and research activities. This role is pivotal in maintaining high uptime, data security, and reliable access to IT resources for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers (Linux/Windows), desktops, and network equipment.
• Manage and monitor LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi networks, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
• Maintain college ERP systems, LMS platforms, and internal portals.
• Handle user account management (Active Directory, email, application access).
• Perform routine backups, system updates, and patch management.
• Ensure cybersecurity policies are implemented; monitor for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Maintain documentation for systems configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement and support.
• Support IT requirements for online examinations, virtual classes, and events.
• Assist in planning and implementing new IT projects and upgrades.
• Train faculty/staff on basic IT usage and security best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

(Diploma holders with significant experience can be considered.)

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an academic environment.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Familiarity with campus network architecture and IT security protocols.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
