Job Description:

The ideal candidate will design, organise, and modify the University's computer systems. They will be responsible for maintaining and managing University's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and computer systems. They ensure the IT systems function reliably, provide technical support to employees, and implement security measures. 

Key Responsibilities:

System Maintenance and Management:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and computer systems. 
• Upgrading and patching software and hardware. 
• Monitoring system performance and identifying potential issues. 
• Ensuring the security and stability of the IT infrastructure. 

Technical Support:

• Providing technical support to employees on IT-related issues. 
• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems. 

Security and Access Control:

• Implementing and managing security policies and procedures. 
• Monitoring network traffic and identifying potential security threats. 

Network Management:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software. 
• Managing network traffic and ensuring optimal performance. 
• Implementing and managing network security measures. 

Other Responsibilities:

• Participating in the planning and implementation of new IT systems. 
• Staying up-to-date with the latest IT technologies and trends. 
• Documenting system configurations and procedures. 
• Working collaboratively with other IT staff and departments. 

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
• 5+ years' experience as System Administrator
• Strong understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks.
